It’s always gratifying to have one’s film recognized, and in this case, it was a huge surprise after the Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards in their categories had been handed out, to find out that “The Place Where You Live” had been awarded the Special Jury Award for Science-Fiction Short at the Houston Worldfest. It was a great festival to attend, I met several really talented filmmakers at the awards dinner, and we proceeded to hang out the next day at the NASA Johnson Space Center, where we toured the last Apollo space vehicle and one of the now-grounded Space Shuttles, both of which were inspirational for my next couple of projects.
